Venerable Professor KL Dhammajoti set up a Buddha Dharma Centre in Kong Kong

The Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong was established in April 2012. The primary aims of the Centre are to promote the study and research of Buddhism through academic courses and publications. Enrolment to its academic programmes will be open to local as well as students from abroad and from both the lay and sangha communities. It will also conduct regular seminars, lectures and conferences and organize related activities which will be open to the general public.

The founding members of the Centre are a group of post-graduate students of the Centre of Buddhist Studies of the University of Hong Kong and Venerable Professor KL Dhammajoti, who is currently the Glorious Sun Endowed Professor in Buddhist Studies at the Centre. Professor Dhammajoti is also its current Chairman of the Teaching and Research Committee, Chairman of the Departmental Research Postgraduate Committee and Chairman of the Committee of the Master of Buddhist Studies Programme.

Graduates of the Buddha-Dharma Centre are expected to be awarded degrees jointly offered by us and other eminent Universities in the region. The Centre is scheduled to be fully operational in the summer of 2014. Details of the academic programmes and enrolment will be announced in due course.

The Buddha-Dharma Centre is a self-funded institution of higher education which relies on the generous support of donors and benefactors. It has applied for and is expected to be granted charitable status shortly from the Government.
